Work with Engineering to implement, administer and maintain New Product Introduction (NPI).

 Initiate and lead collaborative cross-functional projects for safe launch of NPI supporting Design for Manufacture, Design for Assembly, Design for Test (DFM, DFA and DFT) initiatives, electro-mechanical assembly, NPI documentation and Quality

Gather internal departments or external resources at various levels to solve problems to meet planned targets or requirements

Utilizing various existing software systems (i.e., MS Project) to ensure projects are tracked and meet established timelines and financial objectives.

Routinely updates management on status of project

Support Engineering's "New Product Road Map" (or similar process) during development phase and manage transition to contract manufacturer or manufacturing integration

Work with Engineering to develop product structures (or configurations)

Evaluate and direct Make vs. Buy decisions.

Work with Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality to refine products upfront during the Prototype and Pilot phases to ensure Design for Manufacture, Design for Assembly, Design for Test (DFM, DFA and DFT) criteria is achieved to eliminate Yield and Quality issues downstream at GA (final release)

Awareness of the operational requirements of new product integration into manufacturing

Evaluate, monitor and improve manufacturing methods/processes utilizing knowledge of product design, materials, parts, fabrication process, assembly methods, and tooling and production equipment.

Develop alternate manufacturing processes

Analyze and resolve manufacturing issues and provide solutions from simple to complex quickly and independently

Work with Manufacturing Engineering to implement process control analysis, continuous improvement techniques into the manufacturing process, identify and target waste in the assembly line process

Improve manufacturability and reduce cost of discrete wire assemblies and sub-assemblies

Review and solve problems in Change Control process (ECO) for mechanical/electrical, PCB Assembly, software changes, changes because of yield issues and production testing processes

Ensure all manufacturing documentation including process instructions (assembly work instructions) and BOMs are accurate.

Solve problems in product documentation, process documentation, procedural processes, process flow diagrams, assembly work instructions, BOMs, routers, and test procedures

Understanding of Root Cause Analysis, troubleshooting and problem solving

Proficient in interpretation of engineering drawings, schematics, interpret and understand gerber files.

Develop assembly process flow documentation showing control and measurement steps for cell crew size, cycle time, parts/person, WIP/raw, floor space, part travel distance, scrap and set-up times

Work with Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering and Supply Chain to implement product cost reductions and productivity improvements, analyze product BOM costs and identify alternate supply sources

Work with Manufacturing Engineering and suppliers to ensure packaging designed meet specified shipping requirements

Communicate effectively with Quality Assurance, Sustaining Engineering, Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Supply Chain

Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford.

Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level.

Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by manager within the physical constraints of the job.
