Job Description

Your combination of financial expertise and commercial knowledge deserves a bigger platform. At Shell, you'll be seen as our voice of Finance, helping us shape our business direction - and a great environment to grow your career.

Where you fit in

This role sits within our Finance Advisory team, as part of Shell Energy-Europe and Environmental Products ('SE-EE'), a leading energy marketer and trader. This is a hugely dynamic part of Shell's business, with a key ambition to grow the power, gas and emissions trading business, with a focus on enhancing the way we operate through innovative digitalisation and new deal structures.

Recently, the Finance team has contributed to the delivery of multiple new proposals ranging from major new supply/sales deals, storage/capacity deals, new hedging products, legal/commercial dispute settlements and major price renegotiation settlements. With responsibility for a wide range of activities, you can expect to get every opportunity to broaden your commercial skills and further develop your financial expertise.

What's the role?

Your aim as Finance Advisor SE-EE will be to provide front line advice to business initiatives, identifying opportunities and spotting challenges, with a focus on value and risk. You can expect to be providing support across the whole finance spectrum, from tax, treasury and accounting, to reporting, credit and market risk. More specific, wide-ranging duties will include:
  • Supporting a proper functioning control framework and making sure risks are properly understood, reflected and managed.
  • Ensuring value, risks, accounting and financial impacts of new business proposals are made transparent and understood in both decision-making and in performance management.
  • Providing treasury, risk management and valuation support, including: FX risk management advice and hedging, optimal funding strategies and ad hoc structured finance solutions

A strong self-starter, you'll thrive on the chance to bring ideas, structure, economic analysis and risk-based due diligence to add value to a range of deals. Optimizing your talent for problem solving and your knowledge of commercial drivers, you'll make sure you challenge strategic rationale, integrating important financial analytics and insights into business decision-making.

This role is a challenging position within Shell with excellent development opportunities across the Shell group.
