JOB DESCRIPTION

The Global Directorof Logistics & Distribution is responsible for developing and implementing the Logistics & Distribution strategy.  This includes, but not limited to:

  • achieving optimal logistic arrangements for Weatherford's operations to meet the needs of its customers
  • establishing optimal distribution center locations and ensuring proper service quality to meet the needs of the business
  • processes and metrics are in place to ensure the day to day business needs are met.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Directs a centrally established global team consisting of representatives from Weatherford's 14 GeoZones

In partnership with Global Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Operations, leads the development / refinement of Weatherford's global logistics strategy.

Manages vendors for Global Logistics including but not limited to contact negotiation, cost savings initiatives, and building and sustaining vendor relations

Responsible for a department budget and operational plans which includes capitalized Logistics tools and/or systems

Responsible for identifying and driving process and system improvements

Defines Logistics performance improvement plans with collaboration from the Supply Chain Leadership Team

Tracks and manages Logistics performance indicators related to cost, quality, and efficient delivery of materials, goods and services

Drives Logistics strategy to reflect internal customer needs and summarize business requirements

Defines Logistics and Distribution goals and objectives based upon overall Company business strategy (e.g. savings targets, total cost reductions and supplier performance)

Develops and executes the global distribution and transportation strategies which will drive optimal customer service and ultimate profitability

Ensures all regulatory and compliance measures are met within global guidelines

Identifies and implements best in-class transportation and logistics management solutions suitable to the scope and size of the business

Will ensure that all transactions are done without compromising on the cost and/or service quality across Logistics

Will continuously work on enhancing skills of the personnel working in Logistics through identifying the appropriate training needs as well as periodically mentoring with the assistance of HR/Training departments

Will ensure that Logistics complies with Weatherford's Anti-Corruption Procedures, Trade Compliance norms and related policies

Manages and optimizes a Supply Chain Logistics network with multiple distribution centers

Develops implementation of distribution best practices such as systems integration and optimization, inventory control, demand planning, and SKU optimization

Drives operational excellence and best practices across the network

Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by Supervisor within the physical constraints of the job

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Hands-on leader capable of effectively blending a rolling up their sleeves and "doing" work style with creating, selling and executing a strategic, long-term vision

Ability to lead in a dynamic/changing organization

Logistics & Distribution network setup and management knowledge and skills

Ability to manage global functions

Superior communication, presentation and analytical skills

Excellent negotiation skills

Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects/tasks

Ability to create and maintain strong business relationships

Ability to influence those who are not within direct reporting structure

Specify required experience/proficiency in knowledge areas, software or tools - Basic, Intermediate, Advanced, Expert.

Preferred:

Project management skills

Knowledge of trade compliance matters
