This position is responsible for providing technical support in pressure equipment integrity corrosion and materials issues.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Metallurgical Engineering is required
• Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in refinery and or petrochemical operations engineering.
• Has a working knowledge of degradation mechanisms and fabrication related to ASME, API and NACE documents.
• Skilled in the use of standard and specialized tools and the equipment of the discipline including various laboratory and metallurgical equipment
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work creatively and efficiently to solve client issues
• Specific areas of specialization include:
o Experience in the development of weld repair plans of pressure vessels to NBIC and ASME Section VIII Division 1, as applicable
o Experience in the development of weld repair plans of piping systems to ASME B31.3 and API
o Familiarity with the process chemistry for common refining process units, such as crude/vacuum distillation, hydro-processing, delayed coking, fluid catalytic cracking, catalytic reforming, steam-methane reformers, HF/H2SO4 alkylation, amine gas treating, caustic treaters, sulfur recovery and utilities
o The ability to select and evaluate materials of construction and fabrication methods for refinery process unit equipment such as tanks, pipes, pumps, pressure vessels and heat exchangers
o The ability to identify degradation mechanisms and repair solutions associated with refinery process unit equipment
o The ability to read and interpret PFDs, P&IDs and Piping Isometrics
o Experience with the execution of metallurgical failure analysis and testing to execute forensic-styled examinations on pressure equipment to determine the failure mode and provide remedial advice with regard to metallurgy or fabrication, which would improve reliability
o Ability to write technical reports which are technically correct and legally defendable
o Familiarity with the following additional standards: API 510, API 653, API 570, API 579
