Hyperion Safety Services is a growing safety company providing professional Safety Representatives to our clients in the Oil & Gas Sectors. We are looking for a list of candidates to fill upcoming Safety Representative slots on Offshore Oil Rig Platforms and Vessels in the Gulf of Mexico. Candidates can apply through our office in Baton Rouge, LA. 

Summary

This position supplies technical and professional safety expertise to our offshore Oil and Gas clients. Monitors safety and health regulations, crew safety procedures and reports findings or acts according to the clients Safe Work Practices. Acts as a role model for the safety culture of our clients in every aspect of the job.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as subject matter expert according to client's safety policies and procedures
  • Maintains a visible presence at worksites to ensure effective HSE management is in place.
  • Assists in writing and reviews all JSA's, Permits to Work and other Safety related documents and files according to our client's procedures
  • Establishes working relationship with line supervisors and ensures that safe working practices are adhered to
  • Provides assistance to line supervisors for risk management activities, including hazard identification and task risk assessments
  • Ensures regular work place surveys are conducted and recommendations are implemented according to clients SEMS program
  • Conducts periodic walkthroughs and inspections at worksite and other designated locations as needed
  • Conducts incident investigations and establishes facts for Root Cause Analysis reviews and completes reports in a timely manner

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of offshore Oil and Gas experience within in the Gulf of Mexico region preferred
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree with a concentration in Occupational Safety and Health or related field preferred
  • Professional safety certifications i.e. CSP highly desired
  • Experience with Offshore regulatory agencies BSEE and USCG preferred
  • Have oral and written communication proficiency with excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Self-motivated with keen attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently with effective problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in generating professional reports, documentation and record keeping
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must be willing to work rotational shifts 14/14, 21/21 ...etc.
