We operate across two divisions, offering a specialist directional coiled tubing drilling service, and providing custom products to the upstream oil and gas industry.

Purpose of Your Role

The Tool Technician role is to support the directional coiled tubing drilling (DCTD) service. The Tool Technician has responsibility for the maintenance and repair of tools in the workshop and in field locations. This role will require ad hoc international travel and extended periods of time out of the country of up to 60 days per trip.

Key Job Accountabilities

  • Maintain and service downhole and surface tools and equipment.
  • Assembly/disassembly of mechanical and electrical tools and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical and software systems in a logical staged process.
  • Perform on-the-job training for new Tool Technicians.
  • Continue to build upon the strong reputation AnTech has established for customer service.
  • Interact and develop good professional relationships with all co-workers in order for all of our jobs to be done effectively.
  • Able to work and deliver in challenging international environments.

Working Conditions

  • International travel on an ad hoc basis. Normal trip length is 4 weeks but can extend up to 60 days in exceptional circumstances.
  • Expected to spend over 180 days away from workshop per year.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 kg.

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

Qualifications: Engineering/Technical School associated degrees (Electronic Technician, Mechanical Technician, etc.) is preferred.

Essential Skills

  • Practical, mechanical, electrical and software aptitude.
  • Ability to interface between members of the team whilst working in challenging environments and under pressure.
  • Proficient computer skills (Word and Excel).
  • Proficient English written and verbal communication skills, other languages would be an advantage.
  • Willingness to continually develop knowledge and expertise.
