JOB DESCRIPTION

Design and develop new products and services and/or modifications to existing products or services. Also includes resource assessment, scheduling and coordination to meet schedule.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepare conceptual drawings and layouts

Perform research and analysis

Select materials, process and purchase products to achieve cost and performance objectives.

Maintain a complete design project file

Work with production to ensure that the initial production runs have the bill of materials

Assist marketing/sales by providing technical data for brochures.

Assist other departments regarding problems associated with products.

Plan work schedule

Develop CAD drawings as required

Keep all interested parties informed of progress.

Communicate with in-house and field personnel as needed.

Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level.

Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford.

PERFORM VARIOUS OTHER DUTIES ASSIGNED BY SUPERVISOR WITHIN THE PHYSICAL CONSTRAINTS OF THE JOB.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to perform very complex engineering drawings.

Thorough knowledge of CREO 3D drawing package.

Familiar with AutoCAD drawing package.

Ability to establish and write procedures to accomplish tasks.

General computer knowledge.

Ability to work well with all levels of personnel.

The physical ability to immediately respond to emergency situations.

Preferred:

Minimum one-year design experience desired.

Familiar with PTC Windchill

Experience with Variable Speed/Frequency drive systems is preferred. 

Associates degree in drafting or basic mechanical college level coursework, preferred.
