JOB DESCRIPTION

The Lab Technician II will be required to assist in the assembly and testing for gas lift R&D projects. Assistance in other areas of the laboratory may be required as needed. The technician will work closely with Development Engineers to prove out new gas lift valve and/or mandrel designs using various test methods. This work may include operation of forklift.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Know and understand Weatherford's Enterprise Excellence Program and the Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality Systems Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions.

May perform all duties required to assemble and test gas lift valves, gas lift mandrels, chemical injection valves, and other products which are part of the Gas Lift Systems product line.

May be involved in design review activities as needed.

May be involved in troubleshooting activities which result from failed tests.

May operate forklift.

Maintain, clean and organize workspace and test systems.

Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford.

Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level.

Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.

Must be willing to travel to Broussard, Louisiana during the week occasionally for up to 6 months to receive training and assist with testing in Broussard R&D lab until the test equipment moves to Houston.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.

Ability to follow oral instructions.

Ability to work closely with fellow employees.

Ability to drive a Forklift

2-5 years' experience in manufacturing, machining, or testing environment

The physical ability to immediately respond to emergency situations
