Under general direction, participates as a team member to apply a broad understanding of theories and principles of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis to create software solutions. Analyzes, decomposes, and specifies requirements based upon understanding of business applications and engineering principles. Able to develop and implement detailed and complex algorithms for engineering solutions. Resolves customer complaints with software and responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancements from third party customers. Works with software test teams to design and develop testing strategies. Assists with the definition, implementation, assessment, measurement, management, change of the software life cycle process.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and maintain engineering software for use in the upstream oil and gas industry.
Perform requirements analysis an assist team with product team
Identify and assist in the management of intellectual property, third-party software, re-use, and compliance.
Contribute to estimation, planning, identification of risks and issues, and development status.
Demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work closely with internal and external customers to translate needs into requirements, to explain and resolve technical issues.
Help engage in process improvements and execution of established processes.
Analyze requirements and perform design and implementation of software applications.
Understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies.
Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.
Knowledge of OOD/OOP
Working knowledge of C# and/or C++
Understanding of software engineering principles with the ability to translate requirements into design and design/analysis into code
Diagnostic skills to analyze, track, trouble-shoot, and solve complex problems and design appropriate solutions
Ability to prioritize and perform work independently & in team environment
Good interpersonal skills and ability to foster teamwork
BS Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
The physical ability to immediately respond to emergency situations.
Knowledge of Angular
knowledge of agile framework and methodologies
knowledge of design patterns
knowledge in database technologies, such as SQL Server, Oracle
1-2 years software development experience.
