JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a Senior Tax Analyst to assist Weatherford's Tax Compliance department.  The candidate will work closely with managers and directors in the corporate tax compliance group.

This position will focus on tax compliance items (federal, state, foreign).  This role will interface with tax department personnel in multiple areas as well as the Accounting and Finance departments on tax compliance issues.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist tax compliance group in the preparation of federal tax compliance forms including Forms 1120, 1065, 5471, 8858, and 1042.

Prepare federal calculations on book-tax differences

Assist in preparing and reviewing year-end tax provision process.

Ability to be continuously updated on new federal laws

Detailed federal tax research using Checkpoint and BNA tax research products.

Assist compliance manager/director in completion of tax compliance special projects.

Help in preparing state returns once federal return is completed

Prepare forms such as W-8 and W-9.

Ability to work long hours and weekends when required

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Proficient using Excel (Pivot tables, V-lookups, Formulas, Functions).

Attention to detail, completeness, and accuracy.

Background in tax process/accounting systems/software (OneSource, Hyperion, JDE).

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Excellent communication skills, highly organized, able to prioritize tasks, and to work within team dynamics.

Accounting Degree

Must reside in the Houston, TX area

Preferred:

Minimum 5 years tax experience with large corporate tax compliance and/or public accounting firm with knowledge regarding State income and franchise tax returns.

CPA certification preferred

Advanced degree is a strong plus.
