JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsible for the management of all technical and technology development support for the Global Completions Business Unit. Support the global business unit manager in product commercialization planning, implementing business unit technology development strategy and product introduction and marketing initiatives. Identify strengths & weaknesses of our traditional business, identify potential opportunities and develop business plans to mitigate against technology weaknesses and gaps in service offering. Work closely with regions to support implementation of global technology strategy and regional growth plans. Position will also involve extensive client contact and interface.

Serve as a functional link between Sales / Business Development, Operations, R&D, Sustaining Engineering and RPLM's with regard to new technologies and existing products and services. Manage the provision of operational technical support for enquiries, proposals and tenders.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Generate, review and analyze procedures to determine if benefits derived and possible applications are operationally feasible, as needed.

Provide input to the RPLM's as to the required skills needed to sustain services and products locally.

Manage, oversee, train, and support the introduction of technologies, products, and services of cementing until they can be handled locally.

Approves and submits proposals considered feasible to management for consideration and allocation of funds or allocates funds from department budget.

Provides senior level customer sales and technical support, assisting as required with major cementing tender proposals.

Client meetings and presentations to represent Weatherford and the GBU in all technical issues

Develops and implements methods and procedures for monitoring projects, progress reports, and staff conferences, in order to inform management of current status of each project.

Provide information on technical projects including selection, technology and design.

Provide technical support to field operations and other company officials.

Know and understand Weatherford Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality Systems Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions.

Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford.

Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level.

Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

Good written and oral communication skills.

Excellent computer skills.

Extensive knowledge of oilfield industry in multiple segments.

Proven innovator.

A technical background is essential. Prior field, district, and regional management experience.

Good management skills such as holding personnel reviews, organized work, scheduling and costing with accuracy.

Exhibit leadership and can make effective, reliable and appropriate decisions and judgments without supervision or assistance. 

At least 10 years of direct cementing experience a must. 

Technical degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
