BASIC FUNCTION: Report to the Manager Project Planning and produce project schedules for all phases of project planning. May also work with execution project managers to produce schedules prior to a project going to the execution phase, or be assigned to special projects as specific departmental needs dictate.





Review project scope of work and develop preliminary schedules for Stage Gate 1 and intermediate schedules for Stage Gate 2. This will be done from simple work scopes generated for Marketing, as well as intermediate schedules generated from the basic Scope of Work produced by the Project Managers.


Produce Project Planning Group schedules to show what projects are planned and who will be working on which projects.


Assist with building a department database for project schedules.

Authority II To act but inform the person to whom he reports to and other interested parties.

Authority III To consult before acting.



EDUCATION: Engineering or other science or technical degree preferred, with offshore and/or marine industry experience. Shipyard construction experience in planning is a plus. Requires fluency with computerized scheduling programs (MS Projects and Primavera), as well as proficiency with other basic Microsoft Office Tools such as Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Access. Must be proficient in Primavera P6 version 8.4 or later.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum 3 years.

SKILLS: Effective communicator, ability to follow directions and work with little supervision. Familiarity with offshore rig construction and shipyard repair work is a plus.

SUPERVISION: Shall report to Project Planning Manager, Project Manager, or delegate as circumstances and individual project needs dictate.

INGENUITY: Must have the ability to produce schedules which graphically show the progression and interdependence of the project tasks to provide Management with a clear picture of what the project schedule will look like from the initial order to the execution and close out of the project.
