We need a skilled leader to drive the success of our major rotating equipment team at one of our key sites in the Netherlands. This a role that will develop both your technical expertise and leadership skills, working for a progressive employer with global opportunities.
Where you fit in
From paints to petrol, Shell's joint oil refinery and chemicals manufacturing site at Pernis, Rotterdam, produces a broad range of everyday products, and is one of the largest petrochemicals sites in Europe.
We care about being a good employer and a considerate neighbour, which is why we run the site as progressively as possible. With a vision to be an industry leader in operations and performance, we are actively focussed on improving safety, reliability, environmental performance and operating costs.
If you're looking to develop your technical and leadership skills within a complex and diverse organization, Pernis provides every opportunity for unlimited learning and professional development.
What's the role?
This is a role that comes with wide-ranging responsibilities, leading a team to manage and co-ordinate maintenance activities of our major rotating equipment. From large compressors and turbines, to blowers and power generators, you'll take charge of keeping our equipment going - and performing - on time, and to budget.
From the technical to the personal, you'll be leading and developing a multi-skilled field team, including planners, field co-ordinators and supervisors, as well as negotiating with contractors. As comfortable with people as much as processes, your excellent communication skills will see you nurturing mutual trust and a problem-solving approach amongst a range of stakeholders, from senior managers to shop floors.
