Position: Industrial Electrical Journeyman
Location: North Slope, Alaska
MUST BE A LICENSED JOURNEYMAN INDUSTRIAL ELECTRICIAN
Installs, maintains and repairs electrical systems, equipment, wiring and controls in an industrial maintenance or construction setting.
Summary of Essential Job Functions:
Possesses the necessary license or identification card to meet all local, state and government regulations.
Installs electrical wiring, cable, equipment, apparatus and fixtures using hand and power tools.
Responsible for maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, installation and construction of industrial electrical equipment and systems found in an industrial setting through the proper use of standard cable wire, heat trace, fittings and hardware commonly used in industrial settings.
Reads and understands P&ID's, schematics, electrical drawings and specifications.
Uses and cares for tools and equipment commonly employed in industrial settings such as hydraulic benders, knockout punch sets, cable pullers, meggers, hi-pot equipment, volt meters and testers and ammeters.
Able to set and coordinate over current protective devices, size feeder circuits and works on systems up to and including 13.8 kV.
Diagnoses malfunctioning systems, apparatus and components, using test equipment and hand tools.
Constructs and fabricates parts, using the necessary tools and specifications.
Experience installing Swagelok tubing and fittings desired but not necessary, but must be willing to learn tubing installation.
Complies with all safety and the applicable safety handbook, leads and educates fellow employees in the safe work ethics, practices and behaviors.
Support the zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Education and experience to include: 6 years' experience as an electrician, including 2 years in an industrial setting preferred. Must possess direct knowledge of the National Electrical Code.
Must have a valid driver's license, and will need to meet the company and company's insurers driving policy requirements. Possess a current and valid State of Alaska Fitness Certificate as a Electrician. North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) safety training certification, and NFPA 70E.
Also experience in the oil and gas industry in the arctic environment.
