Overview:

Provides and coordinates public and government relations, community engagement, and external and internal communications services for Chevron Environmental Management Company (EMC) and Chevron Business & Real Estate Services (CBRES) - both of which are combining to make CEMREC) - on projects located primarily in the western United States, as assigned. EMC projects entail environmental remediation and facilities decommissioning activities.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
 

  • Manages the coordination of Public, Government & Public Affairs (PGPA) activities to help meet business objectives while enhancing the company's reputation and building positive relationships in the communities.
  • Serves as spokesperson with external audiences and local media.
  • Provides media relations guidance to clients.
  • Prepares media holding statements and talking points.
  • Works closely with Chevron's corporate media relations group and assigned legal counsel.
  • Closely coordinates with Chevron's Public and Government Affairs Managers to ensure necessary and sufficient PGPA services are provided to EMC projects located in the Managers' territories.
  • Work with minimal work direction and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Develop strong, influential relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals.
  • Contribute effectively to a work team to achieve team goals.
  • Express ideas or thoughts clearly and logically both orally and in writing.
  • Share information and work co-operatively with other team members.
  • Assist and support team members where necessary.
  • Understand team dynamics and factors that can affect team performance.
  • Maintain sustained level of concentration in a volume processing activity to ensure accuracy and identify errors to be addressed.
  • Understand the appropriate boundaries and context of the position in the execution of the responsibilities of the position.
  • Travel to EMC project sites, as required.

 


Required Qualifications:

 

 

 

  • Bachelor Degree in Communications, Public Relations or similar field of study
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience is required
  • Strong, demonstrable communication skills (verbal and written) and experience developing a wide variety of communications content and experience in various mediums/channels.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop communications and stakeholder engagement plans, comfortable engaging with media and government officials and senior business partners.
  • Srong ability to collaborate and work on cross-functional teams; strong influencing skills and customer focus.
  • Strong project management skills, attention to detail and the ability to produce a large amount of high-quality output with minimal supervision yes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong ability to build internal and external stakeholder relationships that foster business results and help protect Chevron's reputation.
