The DOT Compliance coordinator will be responsible for ensuring that all applicable divisions of WFT field operations are compliant in regards to personnel and vehicle files.

This position will report directly to the Operations Manager and will complete the duties and responsibilities outlined in section four.  These duties and responsibilities will be performed either directly or as in a supervisory role for a small team (depending upon project).


Keep abreast of any changes within the DOT regulations and ensure compliance within the regions.

Extensive travel to districts establishing baseline procedures and practices to ensure compliance with DOT and HAZMAT regulations to maintain a satisfactory safety rating

Oversee the monitoring of DOT driver "Hours of Service" and report non-compliance issues to management when required.

Prepare report of findings with recommendations for corrective action.

Establish and oversee DOT and Driver Training program.

Ensure policies of insurance, surety bonds and endorsements are kept and maintained for all vehicles.

Serve as liaison for external audits by regulatory agencies.

May investigate vehicle accidents to ascertain causes for use in recommending preventive safety measures and developing safety program

Work with corporate fleet department to help expedite and maintain reporting requirements. Maintain accurate Fleet maintenance records.

Provide onsite solutions, training, and support for the purpose of ensuring compliance with FMCSA regulatory and company policy compliance.

Responsible for auditing, evaluating and reporting current compliance status in assigned geographic areas and communicating this to management

Assist Managers with DOT enforcement and compliance in day-to-day operations

Coordinate, develop and provide DOT training in Hours of Service, Load Securement, Hazardous Materials, Vehicle Maintenance, Driver Qualification procedures, Drug and Alcohol training, Fatigue Management, Journey Management, and Reasonable suspicion training.

Perform any service, repair, or maintenance task necessary when "hands' on" assistance is needed, including field duty.

Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford International

Submit all required reports on a timely basis.

Keep records of departmental activity as required

Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level.

Be "On-Call" on a 24-hour basis to respond to customer needs

Know and understand Weatherford Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality Systems Manual, Operation, and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions.

Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.



Excellent one on one communication skills - Strong written and verbal communication skills in a professional environment.

Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook)

Strong leadership and quality assurance skills.

Able to work without close supervision.

Ability to react quickly and rationally to stressful situations.

Valid driver's license. Satisfactory driving record as defined in Driver Qualification Policy.

Ability to work flexible work schedule, including long and/or irregular hours.

Ability to remain focused in repetitive tasks and work independently.

Ability to follow well written and verbal instructions; as well as, have good verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work safely and well with other team members.

Ability to attend and pass all required safety classes.

Regulatory knowledge of DOT

1 year DOT experience

1 year Fleet experience

The physical ability to immediately respond to emergency situations.


Previous oilfield experience a plus.

Advanced computer skills beyond standard Microsoft Office (Excel)

Technical degree

BS degree in related field (Geology, Petroleum Engineering, etc.)

2+ years DOT experience

2+ years Fleet experience

Class A CDL or the ability to obtain one in a reasonable time frame
