Our Client, a global energy Company with operations in Asia, Africa, the Americas and Europe are currently seeking an experienced Drilling Accountant of the highest calibre for a contract position in the UK. The role and its responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:-
A robust and proven track record as a Drilling Cost Accountant is a prerequisite to apply for this role.
The successful incumbent will be a finance business partner to drilling teams.
Develop strong working relationship with main interfaces within the Project team, representing financial matters in this sphere of activity.
Hold regular meetings with team in order to help them better understand, manage and control their budget.
Production of forecast financial data required to support the creation of AFEs and budgets for drilling activity, in coordination with the operational individuals linked to the area of activity.
Monitoring and management of AFEs, to include revisions and timely closure.
Creation and operation of a detailed cost tracking model to calculate the value of work done for drilling activities.
Re-forecasting of these activities in response to changes to forward plans & impact of operational events.
Responsible for ensuring that the financial ledger reflects the current status of well costs incurred, through the accurate and timely booking of Service Entries and accruals.
Monitoring of actual expenditure against POs and contracts, and prompting timely revision of limits as required.
Timely completion of well reviews and reconciliations between the ledger and drilling reports.
Support of internal and partner audits of well programs.
Support for providing effective communication to drilling management of the financial indicators inherent in any reports produced, and for addressing progress against key performance indicators.
Continuous monitoring & revision of financial data for costs associated with Ireland & UK projects, working within a defined cost breakdown structure.
Work with the D&C team to incorporate Drilling estimate into overall Project plan.
Liaison with project teams to ensure a consistent approach across activity.
Interface with the Global Exploration team to ensure alignment between the Ireland Project teams and Exploration reporting.
Liaise with UK asset teams to ensure alignment with D&C activity.
Liaison with other departments to ensure a thorough understanding of the business processes as they relate to area of responsibility.
Ensure Approvers Authority Matrix is adhered to in sphere of activity, and that the company's Controls environment is followed, in coordination with the Internal Controls Advisor.
Assist in the completion of the documentation of accounting procedures that enable Finance to demonstrate compliance with the requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
Support the ongoing development of the SAP system, specifically in relation to issues affecting area of responsibility.
