Develop drawings, solid models, layouts, test reports and PDM system information.  Also, performs lab testing and assembling prototypes.  Assists with product commercialization and training new engineering employees.  Has some general knowledge of manufacturing operations.


Prepares drawings, solid models, sketches and layouts.  Initiates ECN's in PDM system based on input from Engineers, and makes required changes or inputs new data into PDM.  As necessary, performs technician duties such as running tests, assembling prototypes or giving training to manufacturing technicians during product commercialization.  Assist new Drafters and Engineers in learning Division operating procedures and standards.

Assigns tasks to and coordinates work with entry-level engineers, technicians, or administrative staff.

Receives instruction on specific objectives.  Receives direction on work needed such as drawings, tests, etc.  Receives a thorough review of completed work.  Direction is received from responsible Engineer for ECN or project.

Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level.

Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.



Perform fundamental drafting, technician, and PDM tasks within the established Product Development Process.  These tasks include, but are not limited to:  drafting, PDM system fundamentals and system manipulation, and creation of basic documentation such as test reports.

Possesses effective oral and written communication skills

Willingness to learn new skills.

Demonstrated communication skills and a willingness to work in a team environment.

Autodesk Inventor, Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCad, Windchill

Willing to travel locally as required to liaise with Manufacturing, Product Line Management, Sales, Customers or Vendors.

Willing and able to work in a rapidly changing environment.

Willing to travel internationally to support product development testing or Product Line Engineering efforts.

Minimum (2) years drafting technology or equivalent

Experience in manufacturing operations

The physical ability to immediately respond to emergency situations.


Valid driver's license.
