JOB DESCRIPTION

To work with the Oilwell firefighting company, oil company engineering and operations personnel concerning pressure control equipment selection, installation and operation; drill string or tubing selection, installation uses and limitations; and fishing tools and fishing tool personnel related to well control and high pressure snubbing. A major emphasis is to safely reduce non-productive time at the well site by careful planning, making clear schematic equipment configurations drawings and communicating them to external customers and the Weatherford or Wellcat base.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assess well and wellhead conditions and suggest possible options to regain control.

Describe the costs and benefits of the options along with potential limitations.

Organize the equipment schematics along with a detailed equipment list for the external customers and the service point(s).

Keep the customers informed of the status of equipment preparations and logistical issues.

Remain vigilant for additional product or service opportunities for Weatherford.

Maintain and expand customer contacts to pursue additional projects or other work.

Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level.

Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

Minimum 8+ years related experience

Preferred: 2-5 years field supervisor experience

Extensive knowledge of Pressure Control Equipment (PCE) use and applications variations in well control situations

Extensive knowledge of PCE safe installation, use and maintenance

Ability to safely travel on very short notice both domestically and internationally, with very little supervision

Very good communications skills both verbal and written, both outbound and inbound, with between the customers and the company

Successfully complete all specialized training required by customers such as H2S, Safety, under water helicopter evacuation, extreme temperature offshore survival

The physical ability to immediately respond to emergency situations
