Halliburton Completion Tools - Sensors and Electro Mechanical Systems
Leads and executes programs as required, by establishing project development plans and approving design documents that follow HSE processes. Provides engineering guidance, uses advanced engineering techniques and proposes new technologies to address unique design needs. Collaborates with other engineering disciplines on standards and techniques for calculations, testing and reliability analysis on projects and processes. Develops custom equations and solutions using various engineering tools. Provides recommendations for tests results and assists with complex tests. Updates processes, procedures, and calculation tools for general use. Applies industry standards and regulations in design, testing and evaluation. Delivers innovative IP recommendations and reviews technical papers. Provides technical expertise to meet internal and external customer requirements. Promotes and contributes to a cohesive team environment and maintains open lines of communication with all levels of the organization. Represents Halliburton in professional societies in area of specialization.
•Support all aspects of mechanical new product development;
o Evaluation and Testing of mechanical components/subassemblies at all stages of development
o Troubleshooting of development issues
o Carry out research into suitable components and design concepts
o Delivering mechanical designs/analysis from concept to commercialization
o Participate in and facilitate Mechanical Design Reviews
o Create Test Instructions and Test Reports
o Create Product Support Documentation
o Maintain Project Files and facilitate project closure to agreed standards
o Configuration management all product levels
o Keep current with advances in mechanical engineering
o Creation of new Intellectual Property
•Product Line Maintenance support;
o Product Support to Operations & Manufacturing
o Troubleshooting of operational issues
o Product lifecycle improvements

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
•Skills acquired through the completion of an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline and seven years of related experience. Completion of a Masters in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline is preferred. Chartered Engineer is desirable.
•Must be able to demonstrate skills in the following areas:
o Mechanical design principles
o Interpret results from FEA and CFD Numerical Analysis
o Reliability Analysis covering FMEA and Design for Reliability techniques
o Design of Intervention and Completion downhole tools
•Must be able to demonstrate experience in the following areas:
o Oilfield mechanical product/system design
o Manufacturing processes
o Troubleshooting of mechanical system problems
o Engineering Feasibility Studies
o High Pressure / High Temperature testing
o Specification of electromechanical systems
o Knowledge of API 14A, API 19V and API 11D1 desirable

After borrowing a wagon, a team of mules and a pump, he built a wooden mixing box and started an oil well cementing business in Duncan, Oklahoma.
In the 1930s, Halliburton established its first research laboratories where the company tested cement mixes, began offering acidizing services to break down the resistance of limestone formations and increase the production of oil and gas, and performed its first offshore cementing job using a barge-mounted cementing unit at a rig in the Creole Field in the Gulf of Mexico. Halliburton took the initial steps toward becoming a worldwide company in 1926. We sold five cementing units to an English company in Burma, the start of our Eastern Hemisphere operations, and Erle P. Halliburton sent his brothers to open our business in Alberta, Canada. We opened in Venezuela in 1940. By 1946, the company – using its innovative technology – had expanded into Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and the Middle East and began performing services for the Arabian-American Oil Company, the forerunner of Saudi Aramco.
In 1951, Halliburton made its first appearance in Europe as Halliburton Italiana SpA., a wholly owned subsidiary in Italy. In the next seven years, Halliburton launched Halliburton Company Germany GmbH, set up operations in Argentina and established a subsidiary in England.
In 1984, Halliburton provided all of the well completion equipment for the first multiwell platform offshore China. Two years later, Halliburton became the first American company to perform an oilfield service job on the China mainland
The final decade of the 20th century brought more changes and growth to Halliburton. The company opened a branch office in Moscow in 1991.
The company realigned its work into Eastern and Western Hemisphere operations in 2006, and in 2007, divided its service offerings into two divisions: Completion and Production, and Drilling and Evaluation.
