Chevron Supply and Trading (S&T) provides a critical link between the market and Chevron's upstream, downstream and chemicals companies. We provide commercial support to our crude oil and natural gas production operations and to our refining and marketing network. The analytical roles that support our trading teams are comprised primarily of Commercial Analysts (CAs) and Trading Analysts (TAs). The TAs sits within the front office team and are responsible for maintenance and analysis of accurate physical and financial positions in the Energy Trading and Risk Management system (ETRM) - Solarc RightAngle (SRA).
Key Job Responsibilities for this position:
- Ensure SRA is accurate and up to date throughout the deal life cycle
- Daily analysis of earnings, exposure and mark to market to explain and report business performance
- Work closely with team members in trading, operations, accounting, risk control and other global trading offices to manage and analyse commodity earnings and exposure
- Partner with other Chevron organizations and/or departments to identify and facilitate analytical process improvements utilising new digital solutions
- Join multi-functional project teams on new business and process initiatives
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent)
- Team player and ability to work in a diverse, fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability in leveraging technology to provide solutions, efficiencies, develop models and quantifying risks to support trading strategies
- Excellent communication skills
- Digital mindset and innovative thinker
- Believe in getting results the right way
- Conversant with one or more ETRM - preferably Solarc RightAngle
- Fluency in one or more programming languages
- An understanding of trading terminology, market exposure and the impacts of changes in market moves to these exposures
