JOB DESCRIPTION

The Geo-Zone Logistics Manager is responsible for implementation of Global Logistics Strategic Goals, world class operational execution and implementation of standard logistics processes within their geo-zone. This activity includes centralized logistics services focused on supporting geo zones operational activities. The role will interface with other Logistics Manager roles to ensure best practice is investigated and captured across their area of operations. They will work with all geo-zone business and supply chain functions to determine requirements and support ongoing logistics needs

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ability to work independently without close supervision to expedite and follow up on requests and assigned projects

  • HSSE Leadership - Set and lead by example through actively promoting the 8 GEMS
  • Demonstrate an active understanding of environmental issues
  • Ensures that all logistics personnel abide by all Weatherford Health and Safety processes and policies
  • Understand and comply with all Weatherford Quality Policies, the Quality Systems Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions
  • Support senior management in defining relevant logistics related policies and procedures


 

Operational Capability

  • Leads geo-regional delivery efforts driving trade compliance, cost efficiencies, consolidation schedules and customer satisfaction
  • Monitors the performance of the logistics function, personnel and processes to ensure cost effectiveness and compliance with Company standards
  • Develops and monitors geo regional standard policies related to the logistics function ensuring alignment to global policies
  • Provide network improvement recommendations improve overall network profitability and service
  • Analyses local market trends, internal cost and productivity data to identify areas of improvement
  • Makes recommendations for changes to local policy, processes, works instructions and infrastructure
  • Liaises with Country and product line management regarding performance of logistics function
  • Support any relevant investigations into perceived failures within logistics function that has resulted in client complaints or failures to meet operation requirements


 

Client & Communication

  • When required, through the issue having been escalated, engage with senior client representatives to address client concerns and complaints when linked with poor delivery performance either in terms of schedule or quality of customer service, condition of equipment


 

Financial Performance

  • Monitor logistics functions performance against financial key performance indicators


 

People Management

  • Responsible for the coaching and development of all logistics personnel


 

Vision & Leadership

  • Lead measurable best in class delivery service execution within the geo-zone
  • Manage the region logistics plan related to cost efficiency and service delivery (relating to transporting the part from point A to point B)


QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to work and interact with all levels of personnel, and maintain strong business relationships
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
  • Change management expertise
  • Logistics setup and management knowledge
  • Knowledge of geo regional governmental, environmental, political and geographic factors that influence a supply base
  • Logistics strategy knowledge and skills on a geo regional level, including international logistics
  • Excellent communications and collaboration skills to work across business functions, recognize opportunities, provide support and deliver data based improvement recommendations to decision makers and snr. executives
  • Knowledge of or experience in the following fields are required:
    • Legal & Contract processes
    • Strong knowledge of Global transportation (air, integrator, ground, rail and ocean modes/service levels)
    • International Tax & VAT/GST
    • Trade Compliance: Customs and Export; Duties
    • Logistics and transportation processes, systems and costing
    • Finance
  • Demonstrates written, verbal and presentation skills; credible with internal stakeholders and external audiences in English and at least one other geo-regional language.


Required Experience:

  • 8-10 years' experience managing a geo regional logistics and distribution network
  • Advanced analytical and operational execution management skills
  • Proficiency in use of personal computers, Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Visio and PowerPoint) and e-mail skills required

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Logistics or Supply Chain Management, Master's degree a plus
  • Minimum of 6 years work-related experience required, preferably in international logistics and supply chain distribution


Preferred:  Six Sigma Green belt and APICS Logistics Certification
