We are seeking a Project Development Counsel for our Project Development & Finance Practice Area to join the Law Organization of Saudi Aramco.
Law is responsible for providing legal counsel and advisory services to Aramco's business units, subsidiaries and joint ventures.
The Counsel's primary role is to direct the performance of legal activities within a specifically assigned functional area and assist the General Counsel, Associate General Counsel and other attorneys in the performance of their duties. This is a global practice and requires commensurate travel.
As the successful candidate you will hold a JD or equivalent from a recognized and approved university, together with admission to general practice before the highest court of the state or country of which you are a citizen.
You will have a minimum of six years of experience in a strong law firm or major corporation handling international project development. You will work directly with the clients from inception to completion and report to the Team Leader of the company's Project Development & Finance Group.
Experience leading large project development deals.
Experience with international transactions.
Experience in the oil and gas, refining, chemicals, power or other energy-related industries.
You must be currently licensed, admitted to practice, and in good standing in the United States, Canada, or the European Union.
Duties & Responsibilities:
You will be required to perform the following:
Assist General Counsel, Associate General Counsel and other attorneys in marshalling and examining the law and facts pertinent to legal problems, in preparing legal documents and opinions, and in maintaining liaison with Management and Aramco's operating organizations.
Prepare and issue opinions and advice to Management with respect to standard corporate rights and obligations, standard contracts and agreements, and common statuary or similar requirements or with respect to areas of functional responsibilities.
Review and advise on current legislation, treaties and governmental regulations which pertain to the Company's operations.
Maintain liaison with outside counsel and prepares statements of fact and law for their consideration and assists in the review and implementation of their opinions.
Participate in activities of professional and technical legal societies.
