TOOL & DIE MAKER I

JOB SUMMARY

Fabricate tools, die, jigs, fixtures and other equipment for the use in OEM manufacturing

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining tool room machine tools and equipment.
  • Responsible for interpreting and operating precision measuring instruments.
  • Responsible for interpreting and performing work from verbal instructions, sketches, and/or precision blueprints.
  • Responsible for completing necessary paperwork.
  • Responsible for selecting correct components and procedures for fabrication.
  • Will be required to follow shop safety standards and follow shop clean-up procedures

 


QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

A high school graduate or equivalent, minimum of 2 years experience in a machine shop with one year CNC Machining experience required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as precision drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Working knowledge of trigonometry and geometry necessary.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving abstract principles and variables in standard tool room situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
