This position is responsible for the fabrication and fit-up of structural elements of various types of pressure vessels and other equipment, in a safe manner and in accordance with the company's quality standards.
•Performs all fabrication and fit-up tasks necessary to prepare a pressure vessel or structural component assembled to a pressure vessel prior to welding.
•Lays out and marks weld points on parts or subassemblies using rule, square, scribe or templates.
•Positions pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, guides and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools.
•Reads blueprints and performs own fit-up.
•Works with different types and sizes of vessel materials.
•Operates cutting equipment including torches and various power and hand tools.
•Safely operates iron worker, grinders, overhead cranes, rigging, pipe threading machine, welding machine, and various pneumatic hand tools.
•Assembles components with some fabrication of equipment needed for the job, with minimal supervision.
•Fabricates and/or assembles external and internal components to assist in and/or fabricate coded pressure vessels.
•Makes comparison of spool drawings to GA's to assure correctness.
•Performs structural layout and position fits pipe.
•Works with different types and sizes of materials.
•Loads, transports and unloads tools, equipment and supplies.
•Assists in lifting, positioning and securing of material and work pieces during installation.
•Performs minor maintenance of cleaning activities of tools and equipment.
•Observes and complies with all safety and project rules.
•Performs other duties as required.
