JOB DESCRIPTION

The QHSSE Coordinator is responsible for the overall coordination of health, safety and environmental compliance within the area.  The QHSSE Coordinator will be the resource for the area and will administer, interpret, and implement the Weatherford Health Safety and Environmental Management System and ensure that appropriate measures are taken to maintain an effective program.  The QHSSE Coordinator is an active member of the Management team and leads investigations and is responsible for tracking and reporting metrics, audits and investigations.  The QHSSE Coordinator also has environmental duties and responsibilities related to SWPPP, TCEQ permits and compliance metrics with the operation of the Wastewater treatment plant.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Orientate employees (old and new) on HSSE requirements

Update staff on corporate HSSE procedures and changes.

Coordinate and implement the scheduling of regulatory Compliance Training.

Environmental and storm water assessments including sampling to comply with SWPPP and TCEQ permit requirements.

Conduct audits of the Operator of the Wastewater Plant.

Coordinate TCEQ permit applications and audits.

Conduct HSSE inspections and audits in the assigned area.

Conduct safety briefings for employees, customers and other visitors.

Assist in the preparation of the HSSE component of work instructions and JSA's.

Assist local management in the preparation and presenting of safety meetings.

Plan, conduct, track and report the investigation of accidents and near misses.

Disseminate environmental safety information to all levels of the organization.

Familiarize managers and supervisors with all governmental regulations and QHSSE requirements that affect their course of business.

Assist in developing emergency procedures.

Know and understand Weatherford Management System and comply with all requirements of the Operational Excellence and Performance System, Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions.

Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford.

Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level.

Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Strong interpersonal skills

Excellent communication skills

Good organizational skills

Proficient in the use of Word and spreadsheet software.

Must be able to work independently as well as with others in a team setting.

Knowledge of SWPPP and SPCC.

Some college or at least 1 year relevant experience dealing with Safety or Environmental issues.

The physical ability to immediately respond to emergency situations.

Preferred:

Working knowledge of safety codes, OSHA, EPA, state health regulations, hazardous materials, and emergency preparedness

Experience in performing RCA's (root cause analyses).

TCEQ permitting process

OSHA 501 and 511 classes

3+ years of related experience

Bachelor degree
