The Business Unit Business Development Manager takes total ownership of Business Unit's Business Development. This individual will serve as the primary client interface for Parker's Arctic and Latina American regions. Primary responsibilities will include client engagement, opportunity management, negotiations, financial and contract management, business development, market intelligence, cross-segment business development support, and positive representation of Parker. This position is expected to deliver excellent customer experiences, and build long term relationships with clients.


  • Total Ownership of the Business Unit's Business Development
  • Owns the Business Development policies, programs, procedures, processes, practices and business systems
  • Responsible for the Business Unit's Business Development strategies and tactics
  • Responsible for partnering with the divisions to ensure successful execution of the business by providing Business Development support, engagement, communication and expertise in a timely manner
  • Responsible for partnering with our clients to ensure successful execution of their business by providing Business Development support, engagement, communication and expertise in a timely manner
  • Will provide obsessive client focus representing our clients' perspectives to our organization and Parker's perspective to our clients
  • Shall have regular engagements with our clients and internal stakeholders and update Salesforce will all such engagements and opportunities
  • Responsible for client engagement and satisfaction, opportunity management, negotiations, financial and contract management, business development, market intelligence, cross-segment business development support, and positive representation of Parker
  • Responsible for the accurateness, quality, and timely delivery of the Business Unit's BD departments activities
  • Responsible to ensure that the Business Unit's contracts are understood by the contract holders
  • Responsible to audit the Business Unit's contracts for correct implementation and pro-actively support the business for improvements and changes required
  • Responsible for partnering with the business and our clients to proactively identify opportunities for increased performance, reliability and efficiency, as well as reduction of risk
  • Shall ensure that Parker is professionally represented participating in industry and client events
  • Responsible for following of BD IMS practices intender processes
  • Responsible for auditing of BD IMS practices in each of the ABU?LABU division locations
  • Shall enforce, clarify, and follow Company policies, standards, and procedures
  • Responsible for pro-actively and timely communication Business Development and client related issues to appropriate business location management and assisting in the resolution of these issues, including but not limited to: reasonable requests, investigations, negotiations, and information.
  • Shall support all Parker policies and objectives for the Company that will establish a positive company-client relationship and promote a high level of client engagement and satisfaction, and that complies with policies, procedures, programs and laws
  • Shall ensure the Company complies and is informed about reasonable client: policies, programs, processes, practices, requirements, and engagements
  • Shall update their job knowledge by: participating in conferences and educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, participating in professional organizations

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, is recommended
  • 5 years of relevant Business Development work experience
  • 10 years of industry experience
  • 5 years of experience with: sales, tendering, negotiations; account, contract and opportunity management
  • Must have broad and in-depth knowledge of Business Development processes
  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills and be able to effectively communicate with management, clients, staff and vendors.
  • Must have good organizational, presentation, facilitation, negotiations and conflict management skills
  • Must have ability to maintain high standards of confidentiality, accuracy and timeliness
  • Must be a detail oriented, self-starter and able to work with little supervision while maintaining quality
  • Must have good PC skills to include: all MS Office products with extensive knowledge of Microsoft and CRM products
  • Must possess problem solving, sound reasoning skills and have the ability to follow directions
  • Must have the ability to travel to company locations including offshore
  • Bilingual English-Spanish a plus
