Position Description:
We are seeking a Data Scientist to work with the Business Intelligence Division (BID) within Saudi Aramco. The BID is dedicated to the development of various analytical applications to serve various Saudi Aramco organizations.

These analytical applications include traditional BI functionalities, such as visualization and reporting, as well as more advanced analytical tasks, such as predictive analytics, text analytics, and optimization. To serve the mission of BID, qualified data scientists are needed who can develop and implement solutions across a wide range of domains.

Minimum Requirements:
You will hold a Master of Science degree in Data Science or a related field, such as Computer Science or Applied Mathematics.

You must have a research background in machine learning, data mining, and mathematical optimization as demonstrated through publications or projects plus 5 years experience doing a Data Scientist role.

You must possess the following skills:

Scripting: Knowledge of R or Python is required; both is preferred.

Big Data: Familiarity with Hadoop and Spark is required. Familiarity with Splunk is preferred.

Database Management Systems: Familiarity with SQL is required. NoSQL databases, such as MongoDB, are preferred.

In addition, you must be knowledgeable in the following domains:

Statistics, such as hypothesis testing, bias and variance tradeoff, MVUE, and uncertainty quantification.

Machine Learning, such as Supervised and Unsupervised Learning, Ensemble Methods, Deep Learning, Components Analysis, and Active Learning.

Mathematical Optimization, such as convex vs. non-convex optimization, linear programming, dynamic programming, and stochastic gradient descent (SGD).

Duties & Responsibilities:
You will be required to perform the following:

Participate in the implementation of advanced analytical applications in the Business Intelligence Division (BID).

Develop, enhance, and test applications based on Hadoop/Spark, Splunk, SAP HANA, and SAP BO, Microsoft R Server, and Microsoft Power BI.

Develop necessary documentation as per established standards.

Review and analyze user requests for advanced analytics and document end user requirements.

Analyze business processes to determine opportunities for applying advanced analytical tools to create value, save costs, enhance processes, and improve organizational health and security.

Diagnose and resolve operational problems related to advanced analytical applications to ensure system availability.

About us:
The Engineering & Project Management (E&PM) business line studies, plans and oversees the construction of the Company's new facilities, including some of the biggest and most complex projects in the petroleum industry. Recently, Saudi Aramco completed the largest capital program in its history that included new or expanded oil, gas and petrochemical facilities, raising maximum sustainable crude oil production capacity to 12 million barrels per day and significantly increasing gas production and processing capacities. Among the recently completed projects was the largest crude oil increment in the history of the industry: Khurais, with a production capacity of 1.2 million barrels per day. More challenges lie ahead, with a slate of new or expanded oil, gas, refining and petrochemical projects in the works. E&PM also manages the Company's Research & Development Center where scientists investigate topics such as the desulfurization of crude oil, advanced fuel formulations for next generation combustion engines, and reservoir nano-scale robots (Resbots™) for injection into reservoirs to record their properties.
