Plans, executes and evaluates test-runs existing installations and ensure that appropriate corrective engineering actions for possible design errors are implemented. Participate actively in shutdown preparation and execution and address all process engineering issues. Provides effective process and utilities engineering services to Methanol plant in order to achieve daily operational excellence and to drive down unit cost of production, improve production capability, and/or minimize overall risk of harm to people, risk of harm to the environment, or risk of lost production.
Provides process engineering expertise in support of the production processes and activities in all Operations Sectors, Offsite or Utilities that include power Generation and Desalination plant. Supports the Lead Process Engineer and Production Engineer to ensure an effective Process Engineering service is consistently provided to the Operations Department in order to achieve daily excellence in the areas of plant operation, reliability, safety, productivity, and efficiency.
Work with other concerned personnel and Business Teams within the designated area of assignment to provide ongoing technical advice, guidelines and instructions on all process aspects.
Follow-up on the Production Units and provide feedback to involved personnel regarding the capacity, yield and efficiency improvements. Ensure that all control and optimization activities are implemented in an effective manner.
Participate actively in troubleshooting activities, research and develop solutions to accommodate critical troubleshoot problems and provide feedback and advice to the Maintenance Team.
Assist in the start-up of new units, shutdowns and process inspections. Provide technical advice on new projects/installations analyses, such as hazops, Process Flow Diagram (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagram (PIDs), safety assessment, and management of change.
Work on the identification of scope of work for new projects, the development of feasibility studies, the preparation of Technology Assessment and setting improvement priorities.
Review and evaluate new process design studies prepared by external engineering companies, validate process engineering related modifications, and ensure that process operating windows adjustments are implemented accordingly. Keep current with new Process Engineering methods and technologies and participate in regional and international process engineering and optimization activities.
Ensures the effective achievement of department objectives by setting individual targets, developing and motivating staff, providing of formal and informal feedback and appraisal - in order to maximize subordinate and department performance and transfer knowledge.
Academic and professional qualifications:
Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering
Candidate should have minimum 10-15 years work experience as Senior Process Engineer. Must have experience in Petrochemicals Process Engineering of which at least Three (5) years in a similar position.
Communication & Skills:
Fluency in written and oral English language.

Minimum of 15 years of experience in Process / Utilities Engineering encompassing aspects such as trouble shooting, monitoring, conceptual design and equipment sizing and selection.
Preferably 10 years' experience working with hydrocarbon or chemical processing. Good Knowledge of Chemical Engineering Software like Pro II, Aspen, Understanding of business environment.
