Zachry Engineering to Close Texas Design Center
The company will be closing the doors to its design center in Amarillo later this summer.

Zachry Engineering Corporation, part of Zachry Group – a pace-setter in turnkey construction, engineering, maintenance, turnaround and fabrication services in the power, energy, chemicals, manufacturing and industrial sectors – will be shuttering its Amarillo Design Center this summer.

In a letter to the Texas Workforce Commission dated May 29, the San Antonio-based company indicated that “in response to ongoing market conditions in the power industry,” Zachry Engineering Corporation would be closing the Amarillo design center at 5601 West Interstate 40 in Amarillo, which will affect 100 employees.

The letter stated that if a relocation to another office is not possible or accepted by the employee, then the workers at the Amarillo Design Center would be laid off. The office is expected to close August 3 or within a 14-day period thereafter.

Zachry Group operates 35 offices in more than 400 locations in North America and the company employs more than 22,000 employees.
