Wood Forms New Business Unit
Wood has placed its specialist advisory and consulting capabilities spanning various sectors under one umbrella.

The global energy services firm Wood reported Wednesday that it has created a new Technical Consulting Solutions (TCS) business unit that places its specialist advisory and consulting capabilities spanning various sectors under one umbrella.

TCS comprises Wood’s former Specialist Technical Solutions and Environment and Infrastructure Solutions business units, Wood stated. The consultancy business serves global customers in upstream and downstream oil and gas, renewables, infrastructure design, environmental planning and remediation, manufacturing, mining and government, the firm added.

“With the creation of TCS, we have a compelling blend of capabilities across projects, operations and consulting services that are highly relevant for customers working in the energy and built environment markets,” Robin Watson, Wood’s chief executive, said in a written statement. “By combining the world-class consultancy solutions that TCS offers with the ingenuity and collective enterprise that we have across our business, we will continue to anticipate and respond to the challenges that our customers face across the life cycle across their projects.”

Wood also noted that it has named Joe Sczurko CEO of TCS. As CEO, Sczurko will head a business unit boasting $2.8 billion in annual revenue and a global network headcount exceeding 15,000.

“We can help customers effectively plan their projects, optimize their capital expenditures, address environmental concerns, improve the productivity of their day-to-day operations and preserve value in their property, plants and equipment,” stated Sczurko, formerly Wood’s executive president of strategy and development. “Remaining customer-centric throughout the asset life cycle, we focus on achieving their objectives with industry-leading technical experts in each phase of the life cycle: plan, engineer, build, operate and re-purpose.”
