Jacobs Wins Saudi Arabia Contract Renewal
SATORP has granted Jacobs ZATE a two-year contract extension to provide general engineering services.

Saudi Aramco Total Refining and Petrochemical Co. (SATORP) has granted a two-year contract renewal to Jacobs Zamel and Turbag Consulting Engineers (Jacobs ZATE) to provide general engineering services at SATORP’s facilities in Jubail Industrial City 2 in Saudi Arabia, Jacobs Engineering Group reported Wednesday.

“SATORP’s continued trust in our proven capabilities as a world-class engineering and construction management company is a testament of our commitment as a valued partner in the region,” said David Zelinski, Jacobs’ vice president and general manager EMEA for the company’s Energy, Chemicals and Resources unit. “This contract renewal reaffirms our strong partnership with SATORP and our long-standing position in the Kingdom.”

According to Jacobs, Jacobs ZATE provides SATORP with a variety of services to sustain the operations of the SATORP Jubail II refinery, including:

  • basic engineering to front end engineering design (FEED)
  • detailed design
  • procurement through to construction management
  • commissioning support and handover of small to medium sized capital investments

Since June 2014 Saudi Aramco (62.5 percent interest) and Total (37.5 percent) have operated the 400,000- barrel per day SATORP refinery and petrochemical complex, located in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province near the Arabian Gulf. According to SATORP’s website, the facility processes Arabian Heavy Crude Oil into liquefied petroleum gas, benzene, paraxylene, gasoline, jet fuel, diesel, propylene, coke and sulfur.
