Whistler Pipeline Launches Open Season in the Permian
Whistler Pipeline LLC has launched a binding open season to get commitments for the remaining capacity on its Whistler Pipeline. The pipeline will transport approximately 2 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d) of gas through 450 miles of 42-inch pipeline from Waha, Texas, to South Texas.
The open season started on Nov. 15 and will end on Dec. 16.
The pipeline will move natural gas from an interconnect with the Waha Header near Coyanosa, Texas, in the Permian Basin to a terminus near Agua Dulce, Texas. An approximately 50-mile 36-inch lateral will provide connectivity for gas processors in the Midland Basin.
The company has contracted for the supply of the entirety of 42”/36” steel pipeline needed to complete the project and is on schedule for a summer 2021 in-service date. Construction will begin in 2020.
Whistler Pipeline LLC is a consortium made up of MPLX LP, WhiteWater Midstream and a joint venture between Stonepeak Infrastructure Partners and West Texas Gas Inc.
