TechnipFMC Wins North Sea Contract

TechnipFMC Wins North Sea Contract
The latest Lundin Norway contract builds upon FEED work that TechnipFMC has already performed.

Lundin Norway has awarded TechnipFMC an integrated engineering, procurement, construction and installation (iEPCI) contract for the Luno II and Rolvsnes development in the North Sea at a water depth of 361 feet (110 meters), TechnipFMC reported Tuesday afternoon.

According to TechnipFMC, the contract calls for delivering and installing subsea equipment including umbilicals, rigid flowlines, flexible jumpers and subsea production systems.

“This award demonstrates our leadership position in iEPCI for complete subsea developments,” Arnaud Pieton, subsea unit president with TechnipFMC, said in a written statement. “Our strong value proposition builds on early involvement and integrated solutions. By simplifying subsea field architecture, we help our clients improve their project economics.”

In a separate announcement on its website, operator Lundin Norway states that Luno II and Rolvsnes – located in the Utsira High area in the North Sea – will be tied back to the Edvard Grieg platform. The company added that the latest contract builds upon front end engineering design work that TechnipFMC has already conducted for Luno II and Rolvsnes.

Discovered in 2009, Rolvsnes sits in production license (PL) 338C between Edvard Grieg and Luno II, according to Lundin Norway. The company, which owns a 50-percent interest in Rolvsnes along with Lime Petroleum AS (30 percent) and OMV (20 percent), noted that a long-term production test is planned for 2021.

Lundin owns a 65-percent working interest in Luno II – located in PL 359 and proven in 2013, the company indicates on its website. OMV Group and Wintershall Holding GmbH own 20-percent and 15-percent stakes, respectively.
