Tambar Field Production Recommences

Independent oil and gas company Faroe Petroleum announced Wednesday that production from the Tambar field in Norway has recommenced.

Production on Tambar had been shut down following an incident on the Maersk Interceptor drilling rig last week, which led to the death of a Maersk Drilling employee. Another person, also an employee of Maersk Drilling, was injured during the incident.

A full investigation into the incident on the Maersk Interceptor is currently being undertaken by the authorities and the Tambar operator, Aker BP.

With the resumption of all activities at Tambar, Faroe’s production guidance for the year remains unchanged at 13,000 to 15,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day.
