Tallgrass Names New President
Sheehy's previous tenure at Tallgrass extended from 2012 to early 2018.

Matthew P. “Matt” Sheehy is returning to Tallgrass Energy, LP to assume the president’s role, effective immediately, Tallgrass reported Tuesday.

Most recently the chairman of aerial firefighting firm and Blackstone portfolio company Bridger Aerospace Group, Sheehy joined Tallgrass at its inception in 2012 and held various positions until departing in early 2018, Tallgrass stated. While at Tallgrass previously, Sheehy’s roles included president of Rockies Express Pipeline LLC and senior vice president and chief commercial officer for Tallgrass.

“We’re delighted to welcome Matt back ot the Tallgrass family,” Tallgrass CEO William R. “Bill” Moler commented. “His in-depth knowledge of the midstream sector and his impressive ability to identify and commercialize energy infrastructure projects will once again add value to Tallgrass. His knowledge of our assets, our team members and customers, along with his recent experience with our financial sponsor Blackstone, makes him uniquely positioned to hit the ground running.”

According to Tallgrass, which operates in 11 states, Sheehy will report to Moler and focus on the firm’s commercial and business development efforts.

“I am thrilled to return to Tallgrass during this exciting next chapter of its growth,” stated Sheehy. “I’m looking forward to reconnecting with the team and working together to deliver value-added solutions for our customers.”

Tuesday’s announcement is the latest high-level move at Tallgrass. Last week, Rigzone reported that Moler would succeed retiring CEO David Dehaemers Jr.
