Schlumberger CFO to Step Down
Schlumberger Limited reported Tuesday that Simon Ayat, the company’s executive vice president and chief financial officer, will step down from the position effective Jan. 22, 2020.
Ayat, a 37-year Schlumberger veteran, will remain with the oilfield services firm as senior strategic advisor to the CEO for two years, Schlumberger added in a written statement.
“On behalf of the company and its board of directors, I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Simon for his unique career and critical contributions as chief financial officer over the last 12 years, and I look forward to his continuing advice and support,” commented Schlumberger CEO Olivier Le Peuch.
Schlumberger also stated that Stephane Biguet, a 24-year veteran of the company, will succeed Ayat as executive vice president and CFO. Most recently, Biguet held the vice president, finance role with the firm.
“Stephane brings an in-depth knowledge of the financial function, has developed a close relationship with the executive leadership team and has critically contributed to the new Performance strategy, leading in particular the capital stewardship program,” concluded Le Peuch.
