Schlumberger Board Names COO

Schlumberger Limited reported Friday that its board of directors has appointed Olivier Le Peuch chief operating officer (COO) of the global service company effective immediately.
“Olivier’s track record, consisting of significant industry experience combined with technical and management roles within Schlumberger, gives me complete confidence in his ability to manage and grow all aspects of our operations,” Schlumberger Chairman and CEO Paal Kibsgaard said in a written statement emailed to Rigzone. “I look forward to working closely with Olivier.”
As COO, Le Peuch will oversee day-to-day management of all worldwide operations, the company stated. An electrical engineer by training, Le Peuch joined Schlumberger in 1987 and most recently held the position of executive vice president Reservoir and Infrastructure. In that role, he led the management of the Cameron OneSubsea product line as well as the Schlumberger Software Integrated Solutions and Land Rigs product lines, the company noted.
Le Peuch holds a master’s degree in microelectronics from the Bordeaux University of Science.
