Repsol Sinopec Resources UK Expects to Shed 70 Jobs
Repsol Sinopec Resources UK has revealed that it expects to shed around 70 jobs following a consultation process covering its onshore Aberdeen-based organization.
“We are beginning a consultation … on a proposed new design for our onshore organization. Subject to the outcome of this consultation we expect the number of staff positions will be reduced by around 70,” a spokesperson for Repsol Sinopec Resources UK told Rigzone.
“We are very aware of our responsibilities to our people and will consider any measures to mitigate the impact on those affected by the reductions, including looking to redeploy staff where possible,” the spokesperson added.
“With a view to reducing compulsory redundancies, we will also be offering the option of voluntary redundancy,” the spokesperson continued.
The Repsol Sinopec Resources UK representative said the company had made “huge progress” in the last three years, but still had more to do to reduce lifting costs.
Repsol Sinopec Resources UK holds interests in 52 fields, of which 41 are operated, on the UK Continental Shelf.
