PSAN Grants Equinor Consent to Use Deepsea Atlantic on Utgard

Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSAN) announced Wednesday that it has given Equinor Energy AS its consent to use the Deepsea Atlantic mobile drilling facility on the Utgard field in production licenses 046E and 046F.

The drilling operation is scheduled to begin in August and is expected to last 87 days, PSAN revealed. The Deepsea Atlantic semi-submersible drilling facility is operated by Odfjell Drilling AS.

Utgard is situated on the boundary between the Norwegian and UK sectors of the North Sea. The largest section of the field is on the Norwegian shelf.
