PSA Grants Wellesley Petroleum Consent to Drill North Sea Exploration Well

Petroleum Safety Authority Norway has granted Wellesley Petroleum consent to drill exploration well 35/12-6 S, which is located in production license 925 in the North Sea.

The drilling site is in the north-eastern part of the North Sea, 8 miles south-west of the Gjøa field and 11 miles north-east of Vega Sør. Water depth at the site is 1,164 feet.

Drilling is scheduled to begin in early May and is estimated to last 28 days if the well is dry, and up to 71 days if hydrocarbons are found.

The well will be drilled by Transocean Arctic, a semi-submersible mobile drilling facility built by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in 1987.
