Petrofac Could Cut Up To 90 Onshore UK Jobs
Petrofac revealed Wednesday that it could cut up to 90 onshore jobs in the UK.
“We have implemented a number of initiatives to ensure we can remain an efficient, competitive and sustainable business with operational excellence and investment in technology at the forefront of our delivery model,” a Petrofac spokesperson told Rigzone.
“To support these changes, we are consulting with our onshore employees in the UK on the future size of our business. We anticipate that this will result in a reduction of up to 90 positions held by staff and contractors,” the spokesperson added.
The Petrofac spokesperson emphasized that final decisions on job cuts would only be made after full consultation with employees and their representatives.
“We are committed to supporting our employees through this process. As such, every effort will be made to minimize redundancies and to find alternative posts in other parts of our business for those employees whose positions may close,” the spokesperson said.
Earlier this week, Petrofac announced that it had signed a binding letter of intent for a contract worth around $580 million with a GCC National Oil Company, for the engineering, procurement and construction of a ‘major’ project.
