Petróleo Brasileiro S.A. (Petrobras) has set a new S-10 diesel production record at the Presidente Bernardes Refinery (RPBC) in Cubatão, producing 990,000 cubic meters (34.95 million cubic feet) of S-10 diesel in the second quarter of this year.

The previous record figure was 966,000 cubic meters (34.11 million cubic feet), produced in the third quarter of 2023, Petrobras said in a press release.

The production of S-10 diesel at RPBC increased the supply of the product to the market due to the high reliability of the refinery's industrial plant and the logistics system for transporting production, which allowed the unit to work with higher loads at very efficient levels, Petrobras said.

"The record at RPBC attests to the company's commitment to investing in refining and meeting commercial commitments with reliability, operational availability, valuing people and the profitability of the units, always guaranteeing the safety of operations", Petrobras industrial processes and products director William França said.

To achieve the record at RPBC, a series of logistics initiatives were implemented in partnership with Transpetro. These initiatives made it possible to improve the flow of S-10 diesel through the Santos Terminal, resulting in the highest movement of the product since 2018, reaching 386,300 cubic meters (13.64 million cubic feet) in the second quarter.

As part of the initiatives, Petrobras increased the size of the lots for S-10 diesel shipments. This optimization of the terminal's tankage and existing infrastructure led to increased efficiency of outflow operations, improved pumping, and minimized losses due to derivatives interfaces.

"It is imperative to make use of the available outflow margin and reach the market with as much volume as possible. In this way, we are offering our customers another opportunity", Petrobras logistics, marketing, and markets director Claudio Schlosser said.
