Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) is providing relief support for the flood-affected Indian state of Kerala.

The company said it had pressed three helicopters into action to airlift relief materials for flood-hit people and announced that four ONGC doctors had also been flown in to provide medical support.

In a statement published on Twitter, ONGC said medicines, food, dry provisions, bed sheets and other relief materials had already been sent.

“Being a national company it is our primary responsibility to mobilize all possible resources for disaster management,” Shri Shashi Shanker, ONGC chairman and managing director, said in a company statement.

“ONGC will continue to render all supports to the affected people of Kerala to help overcome this crisis,” he added.

More than 350 people have been killed since the monsoon started, the BBC reported on Monday.
