Apply Leirvik Awarded EPC Contract for Gudrun Platform
Apply Leirvik announced the award of an EPC contract from Statoil for delivery of a Living Quarter and Helideck to the new Gudrun Platform.
The contract includes delivery of a new Living Quarters Module with an area of 2000 m2 and a capacity of 40 single cabins, administration center, central control room and all other necessary facilities required for operation of an offshore camp. The contract value is around 45 MUSD.
The Living Quarters and Helideck will be constructed in aluminium. Low weight, minimum maintenance in operation and environmental friendly were the most important arguments when Statoil made their decision to use aluminum.
Planning and design engineering start immediately and prefabrication of aluminum will start in March 2011. The module shall be delivered in July 2012. Hook up of the LQ module to the deck of the Gudrun platform shall take place at Aibel's yard in Haugesund.
"We appreciate the confidence Statoil demonstrates by this award," stated Managing Director Harald Karlsson. "This is Apply Leirvik's 20th Living Quarter delivery to Statoil and is contributing well to our Order back log."
