Salamander Spuds Indonesian Exploration Well

Salamander Energy has spud the Angklung-1 exploratory well in the Bontang PSC. The exploratory well is expected to reach a depth of 10,499 feet (3,200 meters), and is targeting oil and gas in the Upper Miocene-Pliocene sandstone reservoirs. The prospect is forecasted to contain mean prospective resources of 125 MMboe. The HAKURYU-5 semisub is drilling the well in a water depth of 951 feet (290 meters), and should take nearly 40 days to complete the well on a dry hole basis. The Bontang PSC is located in the Kutei basin, East Kalimantan, Indonesia, and is operated by Salamander Energy.
