NPD Grants Shell Drilling Permit in Norwegian Sea



The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate granted Shell a drilling permit for well 6603/5-1 S on Blocks 6603/5, 6603/6, 6603/7 and 6603/8. The well will be drilled by the Aker Barents semisub in Production License 392, which is the first well to be drilled in the license. Shell operates the license, owning a 40% interest; Statoil owns 20%; ConocoPhillips owns 20%; and BG Norge owns 20%.
