Chevron Hits Gas Pay in Carnarvon Basin
Chevron found natural gas in the Brederode-1 well the Exmouth Plateau area of the Carnarvon Basin offshore Western Australia. The well was drilled by the Atwood Eagle semisubto a total depth of 9,022 feet (2,750 meters), encountering about 49 feet (15 meters) of net gas pay. Situated in 4,550 feet (1,387 meters) of water, Brederode is located in WA-364-P, which is operated by Chevron, holding a 50% interest.
