Platts has signed a $1.93 million annual contract with the National Imagery and Mapping Agency (NIMA) allowing the Federal Government to use Platts POWERmap geospatial database along with key statistical data from various Platts energy database systems.
The Platts services will be used across multiple US federal government agencies for critical energy infrastructure security risk analysis and mitigation, and system reliability. The contract was secured through a fast- track Request for Proposal process.
"This contract is demonstrative of the various tools and expertise that Platts and The McGraw-Hill Companies can provide in the area of energy infrastructure and homeland security," said Jim Downham, senior vice president at Platts.
