Survival Craft Takes Reins at Viscom
Survival Craft Inspectorate has acquired Viscom.
Survival Craft — which like Viscom has its headquarters in Aberdeen — has more than 19 years' international experience in the manufacture, inspection, testing, and servicing of marine life-saving equipment, and operates globally from bases in Norway, Singapore, Malaysia, Western Australia, China, and the US.
Managing director Angus Campbell said, "We are both market leaders in sectors driven by safety legislation — marine, oil and gas, and aviation — and we both have an extensive customer base.
"We are now able to extend into each other's specialist areas while Viscom has the opportunity to develop new markets through our existing global coverage in the marine sector."
Viscom, founded in 1987, will retain its Clifton Road base in Aberdeen and the management team of general manager Bruce Milne, company secretary Julie Vickers and production manager Richard Holman.
Mr. Milne said, "We will be able to explore exciting opportunities through Survival Craft's existing markets.
"There is a lot of synergy between the two organizations which we will work to capitalize on."
